Adam's Peak


Adam's Peak is also called Samanalakande or the 'butterfly mountain' because of the myriads of small butterflies that fly from all over the island to die upon the sacred mountain.samanalakandawas worshipped by the aboriginal inhabitants of Sri Lanka, the Veddas. Their name for the peak was Samanala Kanda;
The mountain is more easily seen from the sea than from land, and also more impressive. Early Arab seafarers fascinated with the pyramidal peak wrote of it as "the highest mountain in the world" and "visible from three days sail". The ancient Sinhalese also believed it to be of great height and a native legend tells "from Seyllan to Paradise is forty miles, and the sound of the fountains of Paradise is heard here.
Atop the peak is an oblong platform (74 x 24 feet) where stands a small Buddhist temple and the shrine of Saman with the strange footprint. Votive offerings are made here, especially of a coil of silver as long as the donor is tall, for recovery from sickness; and rain-water taken from the footprint is known to have a wonderful healing power.

Kirigalpoththa



Kirigalpotta is situated in the area of Sri Lanka. Lies in the central part of country.As to the administrative division, Kirigalpotta belongs to Matale.

Kirigalpotha is the 2nd tallest mountain in Sri Lanka at 2,388 m (7,835 ft) above mean sea level. The peak is situated near the city of Nuwara Eliya, within the Nuwara Eliya District.[1][2] Only one 7 km (4 mi) hiking trail provides access to the mountain's summit via the Horton Plains National Park, although the trail is not very popular.

Hakgala


Hakgala is very cool climate position between Nuwaraeliya and Welimada. Hakgala Has botanical garden and which is coolest and most beautiful botanical garden of Sri Lanka. Hakgala mountain is at above from Hakgala botanical Garden. Hakgala mountain is very good for hick climb and find endemic varieties of Sri Lanka.
Hakgala mountain is at top of the Hakgala botanical garden. After the garden there is a high rain forest called Hakgala rain forest. This high rain forest to near Ambewela. No one have permissions to enter this High rain forest of Hakgala.


Hakgala mountain is 8th higher mountain of Sri Lanka. In evening mist come and covered the all of Hakgala mountain.

High of Hakgala mountain above sea level is 2170m above sea level.

Ritigala


The Ritigala Mountain - situated in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province, 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Anuradhapura. These ruins are some of the most distinctive the island has to offer. it is covered with dense jungle inhabited by wild elephants, leopards and bears. It is the watershed of the Malwatu Oya which feeds the Nachaduwa tank and Kalueba Ela which feeds Huruluwewa. The upper part of the mountain is well known for its flora, some of which are rare; it has also a range of wild orchids.
Ritigala was depicted as the mountain used by Monkey God Hanuman to jump from Sri Lanka to Rameswaram in India to bring "Sanjeewa Plant (Sansevi)" and was used again in apart of the mountain. It is believed that a part of mountain brought to Sri Lanka was dropped here and Sanjeewa plants are found at Ritigala
